Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea
Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea, born on the 1st of December 1970 in Oltenita, Calarasi County, has graduated from ”Mihai Viteazul” Military High School in 1989 and in the same year joined the Military Technical Academy in Bucharest. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 1993 and graduated the Academy in 1996. First he served as staff officer in the technical service of an Artillery Brigade in Lugoj. In 1997, he was appointed as commander of Maintenance Company in an Antiaircraft Artillery Brigade in Ramnicu Sarat. In 1999, 2nd Lieutenant Emil Bobocea was assigned chief of the weapons and ammunition supply office in the 282nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Focsani.
In 2001, Captain Bobocea was appointed as Deputy Commander of the 469th Service Support Battalion in Focsani. While serving in this unit, he was deployed as staff officer in ISAF’s Regional Command South in 2007 and Operation Headquarters for EUFOR Tchad/RCA between October 2007 and April 2009. Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea graduated the Command College of the Romanian National Defence University in July 2012.
In October 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Bobocea was appointed as a member of Romanian National Military Representation to SHAPE in the position of staff officer/logistics. During his tour he was involved in various working groups and conferences focused on ISAF forces redeployment, development of CONPLANs and implementation of Readiness Action Plan.
After three years, Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea completed his tour in Mons, Belgium. Returning to Romania, he was appointed as J4 Branch Head in NATO Force Integration Unit Romania. In December 2016 Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea has graduated the Advanced Joint Operations Staff Officer Course of the Romanian National Defence University.
For his activity he was awarded NATO Medal for Non-Article 5 ISAF Operation and EU Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal.
Starting 24 August 2017 he is the Acting Commander of NATO Force Integration Unit Romania.
Lieutenant Colonel Emil Bobocea married Camelia in 1998 and together they have three children: Rares, Stefan and Daria.
