Lieutenant Colonel Marius Chiriță
Lieutenant Colonel Marius Chiriță, born on 1st August 1974 in Craiova, Dolj County, graduated from Military Institute for Logistics and Finance in 1996.
After being commissioned to 2nd lieutenant, his first assignment was as a staff officer for logistics under the deputy commander for logistics office in 115th Infantry Batallion in Vânju-Mare, and in 2004 he was appointed the chief of logistics at the 173rd Maintenance Batallion in Craiova.
In 2009, captain Chiriță was deployed for a year in Sudan where he was a military observer in UNMIS mission. After completing his assignment, the officer was promoted to major and appointed chief of acquisition office in a Signal Training Battalion.
Major Chiriță continued with his studies and graduated in 2012 with a masters degree in logistics management obtained in the National Defence University.
In October 2013, the officer was deployed for his second international assignment as a military observer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, under the MONUSCO mission.
His next assignment was in 2015 as logistic operations section head in the newly established Multinational Division South-East Headquarters in București, România. By the end of 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
In 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Marius Chiriță was appointed as chief of logistics in Multinational Brigade South-East Headquarters in Craiova.
During his career, he graduated numerous NATO and UN specialisation courses and career courses, the latest one being in 2016 ”Joint Multinational Operations” at the National Defence University.
For all his activity in the Armed Forces, the officer was awarded with General Staff medal, Logistics medal, United Nations medal and with medals for 15 years and 20 years of service.
Starting 12 March 2019 he is Acting Commander of NATO Force Integration Unit Romania.
Lieutenant Colonel Marius Chiriță is married and has a daughter and a son.
