The Minister of Defense, Mihnea Motoc, visits NFIU ROU headquarters
On Friday, 4 March 2016, the Minister of National Defense, Mihnea Motoc, together with the General Chief of Staff, general Nicolae Ciucă, and the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, major general Dumitru Scarlat, conducted a documentation and information visit at NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) in Bucharest.
During the visit, the NFIU ROU commander, colonel Cătălin Ticulescu, presented the mission structure, and level of operalization of NFIU to the Minister of Defense. Additionally, Romanian and foreign officers from the HQ presented, for their respective specialties, NFIU ROU’s level of readiness in their areas of concern.
„The creation of the two multinational NATO command and control structures and the significant growth of exercises hosted and organized by Romania are concrete examples of the Romanian Army’s capacity to adapt to the new security challenges in the region”, said Minister Motoc.
At the end, the Romanian dignitary mentioned that the complete operalization of the two NATO HQs, NFIU ROU and MND-SE, remains one of the top priorities of the Ministry of National Defense and assured the personnel of his full support.
At the end of the visit, the minister discussed with Romanian and foreign officers assigned to the structure.
