LANDCOM Deputy Commander visits NFIU
Bucharest, Romania. Lieutenant General Richard Cripwell, Allied Land Command Deputy Commander (LANDCOM DCOM), visited NATO Force Integration Unit Romania (NFIU ROU) on Wednesday, 29 May 2019.
NFIU’s leadership briefed the role and mission of the NFIU and the links with other NATO Headquarters, Host Nation and about the current stage of the recertification process.
During the discussions, LTG Cripwell showed a real passion for this young NATO HQ and asked questions about the links of the NFIU ROU with NATO Response Force (NRF) and with Sending Nations (SNs), role during Reception, Staging, Onward Movement (RSOM) but also about the current support offered to US Army Europe troops deploying to Romania for exercise Saber Guardian 19.
“NATO has a 360-degree approach on the security of its member nations.” reiterated the British general during the discussions with NFIU staff.
LTG Cripwell is a British flag officer that assumed the position of LANDCOM DCOM and this was his first visit in an NFIU.
