South East Europe Brigade Commander visits NFIU Romania
Bucharest, Romania. Today, 22.05.2018, at the NATO Force Integration Unit Headquarters (NFIU ROU), Brigadier General Tudorică Petrache, the South East Europe Brigade Commander (SEEBrig COM), conducted an informational visit at the Headquarters. The delegation was received by the NFIU ROU Deputy Commander, Commander Juan Ozores Massó.
During the visit, the NFIU ROU personnel presented the role and mission of NFIU ROU, as well as general information regarding the structure as a whole. The general presentation was followed by a briefing regarding the involvement of NFIU ROU in Noble Jump 17, the most important multinational exercise that NFIU ROU took part in so far. The briefing touched on the concrete role of NFIU ROU during the exercise, as well as some of the important lessons learned as a result of that experience.
The presentations were succeeded by a questions and answers session in which both the Brigadier General and some of the delegation members had the chance to clarify certain aspects in order to better understand how NFIU ROU contributes to the general effort of NATO in ensuring peace and security on the Eastern flank of the Alliance.
„I was directly involved in exercise Saber Guardian 17, an exercise in which NFIU ROU was also involved. There I realised how your specific structure is designed for a very important mission.” said Brigadier General Petrache at the end of the Q&A session. He also highlighted what a great pleasure and honour it was for him to finally meet face to face with those who facilitated the movement of the troops during both Noble Jump 17 and Saber Guardian 17.
The visit concluded with a gift exchange between the representatives of the two structures and the signing of the NFIU ROU Honour Book by Brigadier General Petrache.
