NRDC – Turkey Commander visits NFIU ROU Headquarters

NFIU, România – Thursday, 13 July 2017, NATO Rapid Deployment Corps – Turkey (NRDC – T) Commander, Lieutenant General Mehmet DAYSAL, together with his deputy, Major General Cătălin-Tomiță TOMESCU, conducted a visit at NATO Force Integration Unit Romania (NFIU ROU) Headquarters.  They were received by the NFIU commander, Colonel Cătălin TICULESCU.
The visit included a general presentation which explained the role, mission and function of NFIU ROU, as well as the features unique to the Romanian HQ as compared to other similar structures. Following that, LTG Daysal was briefed on the lessons identified at NFIU ROU level during multinational NATO exercise Noble Jump 17.
An open discussion followed, which focused on analysing what concrete actions would lead to a better collaboration and a more efficient cooperation between NRDC – T and NFIU ROU. The NRDC-T Commander reinforced that NFIU structures are essential because they are the link between NATO and the Host Nations on whose soil they conduct their activities.
The visit concluded with the signing of the honour book and an official photo.
