NFIU Romania, face to face with the youngest members of the military
Students from the National Military College “Dimitrie Cantemir” from Breaza met with the NFIU ROU Headquarters personnel. The NFIU ROU Commander, Colonel Cătălin Ticulescu, offered the High School students the opportunity to get acquainted and discuss with the Romanian and foreign personnel manning the multinational structure.
”A career in the military can be very beautiful and has a lot to offer. The profession of arms will enable you to train and participate in missions alongside military personnel from the allied countries, to attend courses both at home and abroad and the newest opportunity is that you will have the chance to work in a multinational environment, as part of a NATO headquarters, right here, on the Romanian soil. One of the key conditions however, is that you have very solid knowledge in English, preferably a second foreign language as well.” said Colonel Ticulescu before presenting the multinational team. The High School students expressed curiosity and asked questions regarding what it is like to serve one’s country so far away from home, about NATO and the multinational working environment. They discovered what steps the Romanian military personnel must take in order to man positions in NFIU, how the foreign personnel and their families adapted here in Romania and about the lifestyles of people who come from different cultures.
For many of them, this was their first chance to meet and interact with military personnel from foreign armies and to learn about the NATO commitments in Romania.
